My Wanderland 2013 Experience

It started with the most impulsive decision to hitch with sir Ronnie to Globe Circuit Makati with zero cash, right after work, in my Jamba uniform. They were gonna get me in FOR FREE! Could not pass this up!

In all my excitement, I forgot my extra shirt at Jamba Juice Shangri-la, leaving me with just my uniform and sheer cover up for the entire Wanderland experience.

Arrived just in time for Avalanche City, and I was as stoked as one gets! My head was just in the clouds. I was a good kind of dismantled as I stood by the Fender Blender, and as I sat with some university friends I met at the gate, all with Avalanche City playing in the background. I must’ve been smiling and dazed for 30 minutes.

In between sets and during sets of bands I wasn’t familiar with, I just took power naps ‘cause I was sleep-deprived for that day. Girl’s got to have energy for Neon Trees and Temper Trap! Oh yeah, that, and I saw ate Helen (a college org-mate), Nico (a college org-mate, and good good friend), and Camille (one of my 2nd year HS best friends).

Chilled and did mental cartwheels on the mats as Up Dharma Down and Nada Surf did their eargasmic sets. Slice of heaven, baby! I heard Feelings, Indak, Tadhana, and Turn it Well from UDD. Best Nada Surf moment was when Inside of Love started playing, and then it was followed by Popular, and closed with Always Love!

I walked and chatted with my crazy HS friend, Camille. She’s bloomed and gotten more beautiful now. Then I worked at Fender Blender for about an hour just to get my energy level up. With team Fendy - Mikkei, Dana, Aicar, Acee, Lordie, Paolo, and sir Ronnie - I rocked out to Neon Trees’ set while making smoothies and washing blenders. Haha it was pretty funny. Mikkei, Dana and I couldn’t stop ourselves from singing to 1983, Animal and Everybody Talks. The Jamba Juice guests seemed to enjoy our Neon Trees appreciation. Hahaha. While I was there, I nabbed photos with Sonny Angara and other celebrities who bought smoothies at Jamba.

After a long wait, I finally heard the Love Lost introduction, and I instantly removed my apron and visor. I bid team Fendy a quick goodbye, and literally sprinted to the crowd (with my UP friends), so I could experience Temper Trap more closely. I sang along to Love Lost and Fader with a very happy crowd. I went back to the Fender Blender, and saw Chai there! We walked and talked while some unfamiliar Temper Trap songs were playing, but I stopped when Soldier On came on. You should’ve seen how quiet everybody was. It was a good moment. Love the band, and love the song. We took photos at the Jamba Juice RV, but when Sweet Disposition began playing, we ran to the crowd, and I savored every bit of that last song with one of my best Jamba Juice friends, Chai. Best best best moment ever! Magical. :-)

Then during our walk to her car and drive to our house, Chai and I shared so many laughs from how sabaw or spaced out we were from that exhausting day. Plus, she shared much of her life experiences more, which let me get to know her on a deeper level.

I tell ya, my Wanderland experience was just…miraculous, magical, one-of-a-kind, perfect, fated, God-willed. Amazing!

P.S. Sorry if this is kind of boring or incoherent. I think I’m just posting this more for me, so I can have a way of immortalizing my Wanderland experience. I didn’t get to take much photos because I didn’t have a camera with me. My phone battery ran out. Plus, my phone camera isn’t top caliber. Hahaha. As I said, it was an impulsive decision to go to Wanderland! LOL

"You will be stupid. You will worry your parents. You will question your own choices, your relationships, your jobs, your friends, where you live, what you studied in college, that you went to college at all… If that happens, you’re doing it right."
